Daddy Jack's "Cooking with the Blues"
Our family came to the New London area in 2009 when we opened Chaplin’s Restaurant. In 2014, we moved to 181 Bank Street, bringing our Texas-based franchise, Daddy Jack’s, to New London. During our time in Dallas, New London, and beyond, we grew our menu, bar selections, Cooking with the Blues YouTube channel, and most importantly, our relationships with the amazing people of southeastern Connecticut and beyond.
In 2021, everything changed when Jack passed away, leaving the biggest hole in our hearts. His greatest joys were his family, Cooking with the Blues, and connecting with his “YouTube” family. His daughters, Rachel and Luci, took a couple of years away — during which they welcomed a new baby girl, Marlee, into the family — before returning to share Cooking with the Blues once again. They are eternally grateful to all of you for helping keep Jack’s legacy alive. Your messages, notes, and kindness helped them get through arguably the hardest time in their lives, and they deeply appreciated every one of you.
Now, we’re thrilled to share that we’re open for business! We’re back to selling Jack’s custom blend of blackening spices and Cooking with the Blues aprons — bringing a little of Jack’s kitchen magic into yours. Thank you for being part of this journey — keep on cookin'!
